There’s power in unity, and we’re asking you to lead a Summer United small group. Summer United is an eight-week church-wide initiative that is funneled through small groups. During these eight weeks, which begin the week of June 12, we will study the book of Hebrews. Why Hebrews? Because it challenges us to put our full faith in Christ and to focus on how life with him is superior to anything else. We need this message in this age full of anxiety and never-ending distractions. We hope that many new folks will join us in this initiative, and that’s why we need you. Here’s how it works:
Summer United small groups will use the RightNow Media study on Hebrews taught by Dr. Derwin Gray. The video trailer for the study is below, and it’s a powerful teaching series.
Your group will be provided with a printed small groups study guide. It gives all the info needed to facilitate your group. You just need the ability to play each week’s video from the Internet. You can host your group in a home, and we will also make the GroupLife building available on Wednesdays 6:30-7:45PM (childcare not provided).
Each Sunday, we will invite the congregation to join us as we read through the book of Hebrews. Weekly readings will be added to the Sunday program they receive on the way in to church.
Pastor Luke will facilitate an online group for those not able to attend in person, and our young people will also be engaging in this study.
Sometime this week, please register your group by clicking the following link: https://www.genuchurch.com/leadagroup. If you’re going to do a different group, that’s cool. Just still use the same link to register your group by the end of this week if possible.
Look out for the Summer United display in the church lobby on Sundays and get your Summer United bracelet.
Watch your inbox for an invite to a brief (15 minutes or so) Zoom session for all summer semester leaders on Sunday May 29 at 2PM. For convenience, here it is as well: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82960296610?pwd=ZUowczNQVXE4eG9LQnNCSXpJL3Bwdz09
